Welcome to the Canine Rehabilitation Institute!

The Canine Rehabilitation Institute provides veterinary and physical therapy professionals with top-notch training in canine rehabilitation. Classes are small and learning is hands-on with dogs on site providing real-life lessons in anatomy and biomechanics. Our instructors are recognized leaders in their fields — and they love to teach. They have also managed busy referral practices so they understand the business as well as the science of canine rehabilitation.

We have two certification programs: Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT) for Veterinarians and Physical Therapists, and Certified Canine Rehabilitation Assistant (CCRA) for Veterinary Technicians and Physical Therapist Assistants. We also offer a variety of continuing education opportunities year-round including Sports Medicine, Aquatic Therapy, The Canine Spine, Current Techniques in Canine Orthopedics, Splinting and Bracing, Nutrition, The Business of Canine Rehabilitation — and our newest course, Current Techniques in Canine Pain Management. All certified canine rehabilitation professionals are welcome to attend our courses, whether they are pursuing additional certification or interested in specific continuing education topics.

Courses are offered at convenient locations in Florida, Maryland, and at Colorado State University's College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Check the calendar for dates, locations and availability.

Starting November 2009, our Florida courses are being held at the Coral Springs Animal Hospital, which allows our students to observe the operations of a busy rehabilitation practice. The hospital recently relocated to a 39,000-square-foot building that includes a new Small Animal Rehabilitation Ward. Founded in 1977, the hospital has grown to 23 doctors and 85 employees.
